Hello to all, I have been, since a kid, a hardcore US history nut. Have spent the last 3 1/2 years reading about the Civil War only. Now after 80 or so books into it and attending a few reenactments, I had the bug to get more involved. Never met anyone locally who is into the hobby. Looks like you have a great site here, I look forward to learning more.</font>}

Hey Ernie? Where are you at? I'm up here in the SF Beg Area and belong to the local CW RT. BTW, what unit are you with? I'm no reenactor, but I figure you guys know more about your unit than the average CW buff.

Ernie, these are in fact great and very knowledgeable folks! Are you interested in any particular regiment or period of the war? Tell us more?

I am most interested in the mid-war period in the eastern theater on the union side. Also I have an interest in the California 100(2nd Regiment of Cavalry, Massachusetts Volunteers)

I take it you read Rogers &amp; Rogers, "Their Horses Climbed Trees" about the California 100? Interesting book, but cavalry is not my strong point. Personally I like to dig out stuff on California Joe (Truman Head) of the 1st USSS. He's buried in Presidio.
