Hi All
A short note to introduce myself since I a, raising a seven year old by myself while his father is serving in Iraq it doesn't leave much time.I have been in Atlanta with my husband for the last three years.I am studying to be a teacher's aide.I love kids.In my free time I enjoy cooking, painting, reading, hiking, woodburning and sight seeing.
I have always had a love of history and joined my husband's artillery unit a few years ago. They are a group of great people who look out after us while he is overseas. They are like a family.
That is all I can think to write.
Good Day
Violet

Welcome Violet and I can only imagine how difficult it is for you to have your husband serving so far away while you are raising your son. It sounds as if you have a good support system in your husband's artillery unit while he is overseas.

Thank you for letting us know a little bit about yourself and I share in your love of history and children.

Dawna

Violet,
Welcome to the boards, once again. It is great having you.

I must echo Shane's sentiments and God bless your husband, for serving his country and you and your family and holding the peace and freedom we all take for grantit. May he come back to you and your loving family very soon, for that is one God awful place he is in, and I want all of our personel to come home soon.

Enjoy your time here on the post, and keep us updated on your husband. As you can probably tell, we are a rather supportive bunch. Don't be afraid to jump in anywhere.

Respectfully yours,
with you and your family in my prayers,
Jenna

Atlanta? How exciting. You've got the Atlanta Historical Center with its wonderful library. The Texas (steam locomotive) is nearby at the Cyclorama. The General isn't far away in Marietta. My major complaint about Atlanta is the traffic. Bleah. Not that it's any better here, but as a tourist, you have to get "there" by three and plan to dine somewhere out "there" as it's h*** to get back.

Funny, but if the traffic was like that when Sherman was around, Sherman would still be trying to get into Atlanta (and Lincoln probably would have lost the election).

Welcome aboard Violet and my best wishes to hubby.

Violet,

Welcome to the board where I am sure you will enjoy yourself and have a good time with our other board members. Please feel free to jump right in with any topic or thread you find interesting. It's always good to hear from new members, though how you will find the time is a mystery to me!

Again, let me extend you a fond welcome and we hope to hear your views and opinions as soon as you are able.

Sincerely,
Unionblue
PS When you get the chance, please extend my thanks to your husband for his service and please accept my thanks to you for your support of him and your family. May God Bless and Keep you both until you are reunited.

Hey,
I just wanted to thank everyone for the very warm welcome.I am very sure that I will enjoy the board.I have extended everyone's thanks and well wishes to my husband when he phoned last night. He is doing well, just really homesick for his family.
Gary, lol I know what you mean about the traffic.I thought a friend of ours was joking when she said that we didn't want to get stuck on the expressway in Atlanta during rush hour, after sitting in traffic for several hours we realized that it wasn't a joke.I have greatly enjoyed sight-seeing in Atlanta there is so much to see.
Dawna,I have really been blessed with my husband's artillery unit. Our Captain's wife and some of the other ladies of the group have taken me under their wing.It has been an adjustment raising our son,but a blessing too.He looks so much like his father now, plus I always have him for company.I just wish that I had his energy level lol.
Good Day
Violet
