Hi,
I am new here.Last year I finally got a chance to go to Gettysburg. And I really got the Civil War bug.I am a born and bred Yankee but as far as my studies of all the Civil War that I never learned in school since it waS NOT taught I am neither a Yankee nor a Reb.I can see why both sides did what they did!

Kenneth,

Again, welcome to the board. I feel that you have made an excellent choice coming to this board to learn about the Civil War and how people today feel and believe about that history. Read and research carefully. Look at all sides. Ask questions and then make up your own mind on what you believe about the Civil War. I think you will truly enjoy your educational journey here.

Sincerely,
Unionblue

Hi, Pathfinder, welcome to the board.

Glad to hear you enjoyed Gettysburg. It certainly is a great place to get the Civil War bug.

There's plenty of good information on this website. Hope you enjoy it.

Welcome! Spend a little time on the War in the Trans-Mississippi, it is a whole new dimension on the war and its causes. After all the War actually started on the Kansas Missouri border in 1854.

Hi,

I am new to Civil War talk. I am currently researching the 100th Indiana Infantry Volunteers. My area of interest is Indiana regiments in the war in the west. Live in the heart of Civil War territory in Northern Virginia outside Washington D.C. Have made multiple trips to Manassas Battlefield.

Welcome to the board, Mr. Meeks,

I know you will enjoy it here and will find several board members who will have the information that you seek. I also encourage you to look at many of the other threads that might catch your fancy. Our interests here are quite eclectic and we have a lot of fun!

Till we meet again, I remain, YMOS,
Thea
