Dan, all grey would be boring. We need some blue!

Hi Dan,

Both colors are good, not sure I've had a chance to welcome you to the group. Hope, you have a great time with us.

Well, Dan, I'm not a member of SCV. But I still have a southern family line to check.

I had at least three, and I'm still looking for more.

Hello Dan,

Welcome to the site and get set to see blue no matter how grey you wish for. As for SCV membership, can't say. I never checked into my ancestors background to see which side they fought on. I consider them Americans no matter what color of uniform they wore.

YMOS,
Unionblue

Dan,
We couldn't possibly have any fun if we didn't have both blue and gray.

In answer to your question, I have not documented fully on my husband's side yet, but have found four Confederates there.

On my side so far: on my mother's side, I have seven. On my father's side, I've found eight.

However I have not looked thoroughly at my Northern relatives so I feel sure there are some Yankees in my brood too. And on my husband's side, since he's a direct descendent of John Quincy Adams, I've no doubt there will be some Union soldiers there too.

Also, in answer to your question about the SCV, my husband is a member.

Thea,

Be very careful! You may find an ancestor who fought with Sherman or some such!
