Historical Marker to Be Placed Saturday June 28 at 1Pm, a marker will be placed and dedicated at the site of the Battle of Hoover's Gap near Beechgrove, Tn. The site is located about 15 miles South of Murfreesboro just to the east of Interstate 24 at the Beech Grove Confederate Cemetery.
The marker will be in honor of the men of the 18th Indiana Light Artillery and there action there. Members of the Midwest Civil War Artillery Assn. will be there with one of there 3inch ordiance rifles and in uniform. It is there wish that as many people from the area will attend. All are welcome and if there are reenactors attending, you are invited to be in uniform, union or confederate. There will be a mixed color guard at the event.
We hope that the placing of this marker will help inform visitors who stop at this place of what happened here and keep history alive. It is also hoped that this will encourage other groups to work together to place other markers at battle sites where they took place.
Thank you for reading and I sincerely hope that those who can will attend.
Richard
