Default Leiper's Fork

I feel duty bound to report the successful completion of the 2007 Christmas Parade through downtown Leiper's Fork, Tennessee (formerly known as old Hillsboro, hence the destination of Hillsboro Pike in Nashville.) Besides the Sam Davis Camp 1293 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, the parade included a fine Scottish regiment with bagpipes, (small regiment of perhaps 10 members), several pretty girls and a few others, well cared for sheep with antlers, two fire engines, several beautifully maintained antique John Deere and Farmall tractors, and a decorated septic tank cleaning truck! If all small towns were like Lieper's Fork, the world would perhaps be a better place.

Merry Christmas to you all from Tennessee.

Default Pride of Leiper's Fork

When I get the print, I'll scan it and attempt to post. The evidence is there for all to see.

This is the septic tank truck, pride of the Leiper's Fork, Tennessee Christmas parade. No foolin'. Now that I think I can handle attaching the photos, I'll maybe try a bigger one before long!

Never mind the bigger photo on my account, Larry. I spent some time in a town about the same size as Leiper's Fork, and the hatchery truck would have cleaned up and been in any sort of parade.

We'd have to borrow the fake grass from local funeral parlors to cover the floats which were, at best, unimaginative. But we had a great time. Simple pleasures for simple folks.

Not a biggie, Larry, but many thanks for sharing the little stuff that binds us.

Real estate prices have gotten a bit out of hand in Leiper's Fork in recent years. Naomi and Wynona Judd live across the road. Probably call this same septic truck periodically. Town is filling up with yankees like much of middle Tennessee. Kind of reminds me of eastern North Carolina and Florida in that regard. Richard, a Hoosier would be good company..... come on down!

That is the cleanest septic truck I ever did see.

Here in Dillsburg, we don't have a Christmas parade. We have the Farmer's Fair parade in October and the Pickle Drop on New Year's Eve.

The Dillsburg Septic truck has yet to make an appearance at either event. Pickles, however, are in abundance.

Most of these are men from Sam Davis Camp 1293 SCV.
