As far as the progress in Franklin, I would add "YEAH!" We might be moving backward as far a preserving the war, but the past is better than much of the present and future. Just ask the folks who look at the Pizza Hut trying to figure out were the soldiers were engaged.

I'm green w/ envy and bursting w/ pride for you all. THat members of this board have been able to significantly contribute to the preservation of a National treasure is a gem to me.

Until it was mentioned on this thread, I didn't know it existed. It's been years since I read about Franklin, so a DVD would be a welcome refresher.
I finally mentioned it at the Peninsula Civil War Round Table. They were delighted that their help was recognized (and appreciated) by the folks at STFB.
At the last meeting of the San Francisco Peninsula Civil War Round Table (Dec 2006), we voted to contributed $300 to the presevation of Franklin Battlefield.
