This month marks 19 years of community involvement for the New River Rangers, a chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. The Gonzales area was once known as New River, and many of the men served in the New River Rangers under General F. N. Ogden, Co. A. Ogden's Louisiana Cavalry.
