Burkhead receives Stewart Award (Mobile Register )
Tally Burkhead was recently awarded Charles S. Stewart Chapter's very first "Julia Brown Stewart" Award. The award is named for Lt. Col. Charles S. Stewart's wife, who during the war left the home they had shared in Mobile and returned to their farm, "Twin Cedars," in Sumterville, Col.
