In my unfortunate location, it is not a good idea to fly the cbf. One set of bigots will drive by and honk, another set will make a note to visit after dark, a third will write outraged letters to the editor. The honking and the letters I can handle. I can also handle the other results, but one can get into serious trouble burying bodies in one's garden. Besides, I'm getting a bit too decrepit to dig that much.
I do have my cbf hatpin and I would not stand by if I caught someone disrespecting any soldier's burial place. When we head for Savannah next year, I will have at least a windsock for my campers awning.
You've pretty well summed it up. I never cease to be amused and disappointed in my fellow men and women who don't have a clue what the first national flag of the Confederacy is even when they are standing directly in front of one. The warped perception of the Confederate battle flag is in my opinion a gross character asassination that the pour rag really doesn't deserve. Just because it was used as a symbol by some (several) idiot klansmen, shouldn't detract from it's heritage as a much reverred participant in the civil war. They ain't put me in charge yet, and I don't expect that to happen.
