I agree with Shane. I would like to see more history taught.

You will never see a Civil war History month. You would have to present both sides and then the PC crowd would get involved to sanitize the facts. It would never make it off the ground.

And Shane, though I still revere the Confederate soldier above all other American soldiers of history, I can assure you that I do not spit on the memory of Billy Yank. I have done extensive research on the following units to which Rockland County contributed men: 6th New York Heavy Artillery, 17th New York Infantry, 65th New York Infantry, 95th New York Infantry, 127th New York Infantry, 1st New York Engineers to name just a few. I have spent thousands of dollars on research and done lectures honoring both sides. In fact I spear headed a movement with a couple other gentlemen to get New York off its butt and begin restoration of the state's flag collection, 800 alone are Civil War era. Both sides blue and Gray deserve our respect.

Amen Bill, they were soldiers and ****ed good ones... on both sides of the flag. All deserve the respect due soldiers.

As it is I do my bit during Veterans & Memorial days. Betweeen 21 guns salutes & parades I do my bit in honoring the memory of all American veterans, event those who served the Confederacy. They were Americans and they proved the American fighting spirit is as good as any on earth.
