Default Question about Underpinnings

I spent this evening making sure I could get into my dress on my own.

I started with my drawers, modesty petticoat, chemise, corset, corded petti, petticoat and then dress.

I felt as though I might be missing an undergarment? I just don't know where or what? Any ideas or am I over thinking this?

The only thing you might add is a corset cover. Otherwise, you seem well and modestly clad!

PS, have no fear, as others on the board will attest, "Zou is a girl."

Sounds like you wear everything my better half does... I don't know if she wears a corset cover or not.

Thank you Zou and Johan.

I'll check out the Corset cover. I just felt I might be missing a 2nd petticoat or something. LOL

I'm assuming that if you're wearing a corded petticoat and not a hoop, your impression is of a working class lady, or of a lady prepared for work. In that case, a single petticoat in addition to the corded petticoat works fine.

If you haven't found her excellent site yet, check out Elizabeth Stewart Clark:

I took one of her Sewing Academy classes a few years ago -- it was filled with AHA moments!

Now (he asks), where else in the world can you find a serious discussion on ladies' underwear? If you can't find an answer on CWT, there is no answer!
