Default Ball ideas

Ladies & Gents,

We have been kicking around the idea of doing a period ball and need some ideas. The biggest concern we have is our music. Anybody know which songs were used for which dances?
Thanks for your input.

Hondo:
I have absolutely no idea of how to stage a ball, but I'll guess you'll have to consider who is putting it on. What are we celebrating, if anything. Is the military hosting it? Is a local hotshot hosting it? Why? Raising funds? Just because? There would be a purpose.

Default Having a ball

Hondo, this is a GREAT CD, one that I use when I'm the dancing master at our local balls:

The Civil War Ballroom
http://www.bfv.com/cwb/

If you follow the "Dance Manual" link you'll find instructions for the various dances, as well as receipts for refreshments.

Much less expensive than hiring a band!
