Seeking Civil War Ghost Encounters

Hi folks,

My name is Jeff Belanger and I'm an author who is putting together a book called "Ghosts of War." I'm focusing on specific battlegrounds, the history, and the modern-day ghost encounters that are still happening there.

I'm especially curious to see if Civil War reenactors experience a higher rate of encounters because when "in character" they can be so focused that maybe they're possibly tuning in to something from the past that most people can't see. I'm not sure the cause, but I've seen the effect.

I'd love to speak with people who have had ghost encounters at Civil War sites. I look forward to reading more of the great posts in here too!

I'm no reenactor. I read books - lots of them - and tour historic sites.

Fort Friend at Petersburg. Go to the bombproof/storage bunker there (it's not completely dug out and only looks like it is from outside). Videotape it. You might get "white noise" (breathing that wasn't there when you filmed).

I was at Jackson's house in Lexington last week. While in the dining room, I felt some gentle tugs on my jacket. It happened five times. No one was near me either.
