At Castilian Springs (A former YMCA summer camp), the ghost of a Confederate general materialized on several occasions. The apparition was first reported in 1961 by a YMCA camp director. The ghost appeared in his second-floor bedroom apartment, between the recreation room and the dining room. Many other independent sightings occurred on the second floor in the next decade. The building had been used as a Confederate hospital during the Civil War, and at least fourty-three bodies are buried along the dirt road about a mile from the building. |
