Fort Pickens
Presently you can' drive there because of damage to the roadway. In July of 2005 the Pensacola area was hit by Hurricane Dennis (and the year before that, by Hurricane Ivan). Since Dennis, the road to Fort Pickens has yet to be repaired. Although you can't drive a motor vehicle all the way to Fort Pickens, you can get there by boat, or you can bicycle/walk or just walk there.
the site listed below has a few photos.

Family visited there quite a few times, and did a lot of fishing off the old pier, remains of which are shown in one of the photos. These are the 1st photos I've seen of the site since I visited there last, somewhere around 1958 or 9.

Default Pensacola/Mobile

If your driving, you should also check out Mobile.
Fort Morgan and Gaines, at the mouth of the Bay, And on the east side, North end of the bay is Spanish Fort and Fort Blakely. Last year, summer IIRC, the visitors center was burned out, but they indicated a hope to have it rebuild fairly quickly. I think that some of the museum items had been moved so were not destroyed (but I might be wrong).
I lived in that area for a long while as a kid, but never got to try and visit the 2 Fort areas (were not developed at that time).
I also heard that Morgan is falling into dis-repain but hope something has, or will, be done.
There is also a large U.S.military Museum on the road to Morgan.
And of course, the U.S.S Alabama up close to Mobile. I found out that the ship was listing a bit after Katrina passed through there, but have heard nothing about any serious damage.
And if you do get to Mobile, visit their Museum. They have a pretty sizable collection of pre- and CW era items. I have a book with photos of a lot of the collection that bring back lots of memories for my couple of visits.

Besides Fort Pickens, in Pensacola Bay, you might also visit Fort Barrancas, also in the harbor; Mallory House, the home of Confederate Secretary of the Navy; the Pensacola Historical Museum, in the old Christ Church which was used as a Union barracks for a while; and the Perry House, home of Brig. Gen. E. A. Perry, who later became governor of Florida.
