Default Gettysburg/Harrisburg area

For those who may be interested in staying in a bed & breakfast while visiting the battlefield in Gettysburg and/or the Civil War Museum in Harrisburg, I would recommend Pheasant Field B&B, recently voted the best bed and breakfast in the Harrisburg area by Harrisburg Magazine.

Pheasant Field is located on the outskirts of Carlisle, not right in Gettysburg or Harrisburg, but within easy driving distance of both. (For those interested in visiting the War College in Carlisle, it's probably even more convenient to that.)

I have not stayed overnight at Pheasant Field, but I have attended social functions there. It's in a beautiful country setting and it's clean as a whistle. There's a nice big social room indoors, a nice big patio outdoors, a tennis court, and I think they even have a riding stable. And if you want to play bocce or croquet out on the lawn, just ask and they'll pull out the set for you.

I know the proprietors, Chuck and Dee DeMarco, personally, and if you go there, I promise they will treat you right.

For more information, you can look at their website, www.pheasantfield.com.
