Tim, that quote was called into question a couple years ago as it's not actually in his inaugral address. I believe it actually came from one of his speeches but haven't been actually able to find what speech specifically.

This has the flavor of a heavyweight weigh-in or Super Bowl boast, in today's milieu, but unlike Namath, another southerner, he couldn't deliver the goods.

As a Joe Willie Namath fan, we'll take that as a compliment, at least for Joe Willie who could and did deliver. It should be noted that Joe Willie graduated with his batchelor's degree from the University of Alabama back at the end of last semester. It took him a while, probably spent too much time playing football?
