If I'm not mistaken there is a Sci-Fi book "the guns of the south" (turtledove seems like the writers name) where a time traveler takes Lee A bunch of AK-47's...interesting story...

I think the johnnie's and billie's would have absolutely LOVED to play w/ an M-16; that is until the thought of the other side using them in battle occourred. Then I think they'd be mortified. Quickly the Entrenching tool would be necessary huh?

It's obvious our govt. has supplied incredible gear for our soldiers today...CWS's would think it was great...I hadn't thought about MRE's, --- I'd love to see their faces when they heated up in the water --- or eating the bags of skittles

I ride a crotch rocket and often wonder what a group of CW Soldiers would do if I rode through camp..."Would you look at that horse!!"

A fast motorcycle!! Sorry for the tardy reply, away from computer all weekend...

I'd just love to see their faces when any motorcylcle drove by...astonishment..

sorry, I should have clarified I was moving the discussion away from modern military inventions to just plain modern inventions...
