Talking One for the books...

"What if" discussions can get absurd so I thought I'd throw one of mine in. Yhe CSA was from the south..NASCAR is from the south. What if R.E. Lee was a NASCAR driver. What sort of car would he drive and who would be his sponsers? What about N.B. Forrest? Longstreet, Bragg? Boggles the mind don't it!

If it was today, it'd be Rebel Yell Whiskey.

As a one-time greaser, I'm a bit embarrassed that I do not follow auto-racing of any kind. But NBF was certainly the Maserati type, which leaves him out of NASCAR. Wild Turkey would be his sponsor, if he needed one.

Bragg would drive a Peugout/Renault combination cobbled together from parts gleaned from meticulous salvage yards. It would run very well if he would try to start it with the key instead of kicking it.

J.E. Johnston would drive a top-end Ford -- practical and formidable. His sponsor would be tobacco company -- currently in disfavor.

Ole

Default Lee

Im not sure what our Great General would drive...but certainely he would not be sponsored by any 'booze' company. The modern US Army comes to mind.

If Lee has his heyday say 30 years ago...I see him as a Mopar man. But no tobacco sponsership of the era.

VS...etc
