Has anyone ever been to the Battle of Davis Bridge (Hatchie River)? I was thinking of stopping there on my way to Corinth and Shiloh. Any other suggestion(s) are welcome.

Brices Cross Roads and Tupelo are just down HWY 45. See where that Devil Forrest gave Sturgis a good drubbing.

Yes, I have been there. Not that much to see but I had a personal connection as my forefather's outfit was engaged there. It's actually a nice little spot but there's not much interpretation. There's two little sections to see, one being the ridge above the river bottom with some interpretive signs and the main section being the bridge area itself. It's only a few acres but it's a pleasant stroll off the beaten track and there is some interpretation. If you have the time, go for it.

I'm quite interested in touring the northeastern part of Mississippi in my ongoing attempt to 'track' the Army of Tennessee in 1865. Any suggestions of points of information on this period will be greatly appreciated.
