Default 32nd Tennessee Palmer's Brigade

Just wanted to make a quick post regarding this regiment and brigade, which belonged to S. D. Lee's Corps. I know one of the frequent posters here (Larry) had an ancestor in Palmer's Brigade and thought this might be of interest. He might already have the info, so perhaps it might be helpful to anyone else.

The 32nd Tennessee arrived at Franklin around 11 p.m. Palmer's Brigade was the trailing brigade of the last of Lee's divisions. Thankfully the cover of darkness and evacuation of the Federal army spared the men of the 32nd Tennessee from the horrors of combat at Franklin.

Thanks Eric. My Virginia boys, the 54th and 63rd infantry were ordered to guard the ordinance. There are brief references to 'clean up' duty following the battle. As you know this brigade was ordered to Murfreesboro on December 6 to join Bates and Forrest. While missing the most of the carnage at Franklin and all of Nashville, these lucky folks were honored with receiving the full brunt of Hatch's and Wilson's pursuit of the retreating army south of Columbia, TN Dec 18-28. Hence my study of skirmishes at Lynnville, Pulaski, Anthony's Hill and Sugar Creek under Walthall and Forrest.
