Seems Coffee also declined Shelby's offer to accompany him to Mexico after the war and instead remained in the Georgetown Texas area where he operated a Goat Ranch and was active with his fourth wife in the Georgetown Methodist -Episcopal Church.

Coffee never returned to Missouri but maintained title of his Dade Co. property until his death.
