Default Galveston, Texas
Back in early 1862, I know that a union force tried and unsuccesfully to invade Texas through Galveston. Ive tried to find any kind of reading material or internet info on it. Can anyone here give me some help? I live about 30 minutes from Galveston and do frequent work at the docks down there as a security guard.

Two books that I am aware of are,
Galveston (Civil War in the Far West) by PG Nagle
Battle for the Bay by Edward T. Cotham

There is a good web site on the blockade runner Denbigh
The Denbigh Project has a section on Galveston
