Matt: sorry for the delay in responding. My keyboard quit 'keyboarding' and I had to find another one. I was able to access the material & the site but could not post (until now.)
Thank you for the link to the Atlanta Campaign! Great stuff there; I really appreciate it! Any other site links that you might have would be welcomed.
Matt, are the MOLLUS files accessible online or only through book form? If they are online I would like to read them. Much of my study has included Federal battle reports, etc..as in many cases this is the only surviving material to read. No problem with the material being US. Please send it to my email if you can, please.

I will place the book "Echos of Battle, The Atlanta Campaign" on my priority list. Soon as I can save-up the money I'll buy it. The way things are looking currently, it will be a while, sorry to say. Thanks much for the heads-up.
Please feel free to send anything interesting on the Atlanta Campaign. I welcome it and REALLY appreciate your kindness in helping me. I've "toured" the Atlanta Campaign via your most helpful photo link in its entirity (albeit hurriedly) and will definitely do this again in a more relaxed manner. This is a lot of very nice photos! It almost seems as if you are there. I visited Kennesaw, Ga. in June, '99, Chicamauga in '98 and Resaca/Jonesboro during re-enactments. Atlanta for the most part seems lost to the developement of the City. Bald Hill looks to be (currently) part of the Interstate, sorry to say.
Thanks Much, Rob Adams (Alabaman)
Scone: regarding Gen. Hood & Laudanum/alcohol. It would be better for Hood's reputation if this was true. This would (at least) give an explanation for J.B Hood ordering his men and officers to their certain destruction. Without the Laudanum/alcohol explanation, Hood's only excuse was his total lack of leadership capacity and a revengefull spirit.
The Regimental History of the 45th Ala.
Inf Reg't. written by Brewer, states: "On the evening before the battle of Franklin, at the little village of Springhill the regiment drove the outposts of the enemy before them, "Old Pat," looking on and saying it was one of the most gallant feats of war, and on the next day, the great important day, just as the sun was sinking in the west it (45th Ala.) went into the terrible battle of Franklin, with waving banners and with that yell which Southrn boys alone knew how to put up, and was still more impressive and encouraging, with their beloved General Clebune leading them on to victory or death; and with him they met death calmly and heroically; human valor could do no more."
Did the 45th Ala. lead the assault at Springhill, Tn. preceeding the battle of Franklin?
Is the grave of Capt. John R. "Kit" Carson, Co. K, 45th Ala. marked there at Franklin or any markers to the 45th Ala. exist currently? I'm curious & realize you know the battle well. Regards, Rob Adams.
