Default CDV of 1st Lt. Lemuel Gilman, 15th Illinois

I just purchased a CDV of 1st Lt. Lemuel O. Gilman from an estate sale in Spring Hill, TN and wanted to share it with CWT. His eyes seem to pierce right through to your very soul.

Here's a web page I published around the item: http://www.civilwargazette.faithsite....asp?CID=79170

Gilman fought with the 15th Illinois from May 1861 all the way through June 1865. He enlisted as a Coporal and rose to the rank of Captain before war's end.

This CDV was in a locked case and was one of the last items sold Monday evening the 28th. I waited patiently and won the bid for $75.00 - quite a bargain if you ask me.

Just wanted to share it with everyone!

CWG,

Thanks for sharing, I really appreciate it. I have two period pictures myself, but one in a wooden case of a woman who put a lock of her hair behind the image. Always made me wonder what happened to the man who got it from her.

Thanks again,
Unionblue
