Can anyone explain all the various departments the Confederacy had in the Midwest? I know at one point there were up to three (Dept. of Mississippi and East Louisiana with the Army of Mississippi under Pemberton; Dept. of the Trans-Mississippi with Holmes in Arkansas covering Little Rock and on the MIssissippi; and Dept. of Tennessee (?) under General Bragg) there.

Are the names correct and what was the evolution of these Depts? I know at one point it was all placed under Johnston, but separated again.
