Default Harvest of death from hallowed ground

The site below is a pretty decent presentation on certain aspects of the battle of Gettysburg. My interest mainly was the handling of the bodies after the battle, by Union troops, then the civilians of Gettysburg. That topic is addressed on the first couple of pages.
Also there are some first person accounts by high-ranking officers on this site: George Pickett, Winfield Hancock, James Longstreet etc., and some photos.

The painting above, on display at the Pennsylvania State Museum in Harrisburg, represents
Peter Frederick Rothermel's interpretation of the fighting on Culp's Hill on the
morning of July 3rd. Towards the right center, he included Grace
just in front of the Confederate lines.

M.E., thanks for the compliment. I use photobucket.com for the photos. A member of this board,Rebal, told me about it. He's posted some really awesome photos he's taken of Confederate monuments throughout the South. He's got a whole thread of them on here somewhere. Go to his name under "members" and click, then you can go through his posts to find the photo thread. He lives in England, and is a Civil War buff. Photobucket is free, and it will show you how to post photos in different formats (thumbnails, full size etc.)

That's a great painting. Culp's Hill is fascinating, and off the beaten path for the casual tourist. I didn't explore Culp's Hill until my third trip to the battlefield.
