Greetings all--I've been told of an article in The Gettysburg Magazine Issue 22 called "Dispelling the Legend of Lt. Elijah Hayden's Death". If anyone has a copy of this article I would love to read it. Lt. Hayden is an ancestor of mine, and I've been told one story of his demise on July 3, 1863, but if there are others with info, I'd be grateful if they shared their stories.

Thanks

Haydenskin, welcome to the board!

I do not have a copy of the magazine myself.

I don't know how close you are to Gettysburg, but if you ever get to the battlefield, you might be able to get a copy of the issue you seek at the gift shop in the visitors' center. I know that the gift shop does carry back issues of that magazine. They don't necessarily have copies of every issue, but you might get lucky.

Have you tried contacting the publisher? Sometimes they have back issues for sale.

http://www.morningsidebooks.com/
price 7.95 + shipping.
I did take a look but this article is not on GDG, Gettysburg Discussion Group. However, they do have at least 1 complete article from every issue posted on their website, Morningside also has several complete articles posted but not of every issue. These articles do lack the maps and photos, unless they changed that recently.
I have the complete set of Mags and find them very enjoyable.
