Default I'm Tired...

To My Friends and Fellow Board Members,

I will not be involved with the board for a while, as I am burying my 16-year old nephew, Adam Carter, on Monday, March 31, 2008.

Adam was killed last Tuesday on March 25, at about 7:30 AM, while driving to school on a narrow, two-lane road. For some reason, his car went left of center and crashed into a dump truck, throwing his car off the road and into a telephone pole. Adam did not regain consciousness when he was LifeFlighted from the scene of the accident nor when he entered surgery at the hospital. He died at about 1:30 - 2 PM that same day.

Adam was an only child, and of course, his father and mother are just devastated. My wife, Sue, was exceptionaly close to Adam and her sister and she too, has taken his death very hard.

I was asked to be one of the boy's pallbearers by the family. We will place Adam in his resting place at about noon on Monday.

Within the last few, short months, I have buried my favorite Uncle, learned of the death of my dear friend Bill Torrens, and now this loss of a bright, joyus, wonderful young man who had so much to live for.

I am sick of death and tired of funerals. I pray this is the last for at least a while.

Cling to you families and friends. Tell them you love them. Make time for the most distant of realitives and count yourself lucky you have them. Time is much too short.

My deepest condolences. It is the hardest thing in the world for a parent to bury a child. You, and all your family, are in our prayers.
