Default C.S.A. & U.S.A. Surgeons- Piece of History

Hello. I have posted this under the New Member section but did not know if anyone was getting a look at it. Here I have a couple of books that feature a C.S.A. surgeon and a U.S.A. surgeon. It is interesting history and history us nuts......uh I mean anyone interested in Civil War history could enjoy. I hope you enjoy the little research project I have completed. Any questions about Civil War medical books let me know.

Clara,

I love your name. What a great great woman of the Civil War. I have another little item to share with you. This stamp came from a book called Military Medical and Surgical Essays edited by William Hammond. It is the Angel of the Battlefield descending down upon a soldier and his surgeon. It was put together for the Sanitary Commission that Clara was so much a part of. And she was also considered the Angel of the Battlefield. The book was published in 1864. Below are links to pictures of the stamp:

CW_Surgeon,

The stamp is impressive. I'll have to try to make an avatar of it. CivilWarTalk forum has the most scholarly, well-read group of people I've ever encountered ... you're going to fit right in.

Welcome!

CW Surgeon, do you know where I can get ahold of a Cullen's Nosology in English, for not too much?

I keep waiting for it to show up in Project Gutenburg but it hasn't yet!

I love it when a plan comes together.

Thank you! Also note the cross on the angel. And who was considered the founder of the Red Cross? You
Clara. When I got the book and studied the stamp it became very special.

I do not Blue. The only copies I find are $400+. I do know where a rather rough copy lies for a little over $100. 1800 edition published in Edinburgh.
