Actually, stumbled on Mike's website about 2 weeks ago, and have read most of his articles. I followed through with an email to him to elaborate on his views. Since, I'm only beginning to study the Civil War, I'm anxious to see what the experts on this forum have to say.
I'm hoping for a good discussion. Thanks for starting the thread.

NO, not at all. I'm just interested in the political science of the era from 1825-1877, and happened to stumble upon Mr. Griffith's website. Since Mr. Griffith seems to hold the opinion that the South could have seceded without war, I was wondering how he could substantiate that opinion.
Griffith wouldn't know the truth if it hit him between the eyes. I've seen him on several groups where his basic dishonesty makes him the least respected member. He's a propagandist, and not a very good one at that.

So! This guy does not toe the official line so his ideas should just be written off. The gatekeepers of History should not be judge and jury on this mans ideas. It is your job to learn and your job to research and your mind that will judge this mans work and give a verdict.
Remember, it is truth you are looking for....
