Default Cavalry guidons

I am painting up some Civil War miniatures for my son and I to play with. Thus, I am painting both Union and Confederate. I m in the process of painting the cavalry and was going to outfit them with both the battle flags and the troop guidons. I have some Union troop guidons (red over white with "US" and the troop letter). I have not been able to determine, however, if the Confederate cavalry used something similar for their troop guidons or what they used. Anyone know?

The answer is going to depend upon unit, theatre of operations and time frame for CS forces. Not certain thats the answer you want. General answer is going to be no to guidons for mid to late war for most CS Cav west of the Appalachians.
