Hello Pete,
I live in Clear Lake and work in Galveston. You might give the Rosenberg Library in Galveston a try. They have alot of local Galveston Co. history archived there. Also the Galveston Co. News is a great source for local units that served in the War of Northern Aggression. They have a lot of primary sources, especially from the 2nd Tx, which was formed by men from Galveston Co. The Army Corp. of Eng. by thye Bolivar ferry is also a place to try. I believe that I might have pictures of headstones of members of the 1st Art. Oleander Cemetery at Broadway and 43rd St. has tons of Civil War headstones, yankees too. John Magruder is buried there.
