Default Most famous unit in the Civil War?

Had a trivia quiz last night at the South Bay Civil War Round Table. The only one I got right was, "What famous unit was depicted in a Disney film?" Mind you, I didn't know what Disney film but as no one could answer it, I took a wild guess and was right.

So, what unit?

As it was a Disney film, I'll hazzard a wild guess that it was about the VMI Cadets at New Market.

I'm going to hazard a guess that it was Mosbys Partisan Rangers, though from my childhood, I can remember that there was a Disney film about The Great Locomotive Chase as well. But my money is on Mosby.

I remember, it was Mosby's rangers. The guy who was "Dan-o" as in "book 'em, Dano" played a young Union cavalryman.

yea your probably right.. especially since the locomotive chase doenst name a particular unit, so it doesnt really fit the question. I never saw the mosby raiders one tho didnt know about it

Those who voted for Mosby's Rangers are correct. Now, don't ask me what Disney flick it was.

I looked it up on IMDB, just to see if there was anybody in it that I would recognize today (seeing as I saw it when I was about 8 at my uncles house) and Kurt Russell actually had a part in it. Can't remember how big, but I thought that was interesting. And it was called Mosby's Marauders, though IMDB has it listed as something else.

Mosby's Marauders is certainly more waxy poetic than Mosby's Rangers or Mosby's Cavalry. I wonder if the writers knew of Merrill's Marauders?
