Attack WHAT message? It's hard to determine what Battalion is trying to say when all he presents is snips and pieces of quotes, taken totally out of context, and then just leaves them there, like fish heads rotting in the sun. All they do is smell and look bad.
As for 'Yankee 101' did it feel good to get off a cheap shot? Or do they teach that in 'Lost Cause' defense class. "Defend no matter what the truth or the message, defend!"
By-the-way, ever try what I suggested about typing 'slave whippings' into your search engine? Or would that be too much effort to see what that was about?

You're commenting on a book you haven't read and a methodology you know nothing about.
Sampling can be quite scientific. That's why a poll of a few hundred people can accurately predict the results of a nationwide election the following day.

I'm commenting on a book I haven't read and don't plan on reading. As for sampling, I actually have some formal training. I wasn't impressed with that either. Scientific only in theory, the results of a sample are the function of the sample, nothing more. Stick your hand in the lake without touching the bottom and you'll conclude that the lake only consists of water and a few bugs. I'm curious what Al Gore or Dewey, the guy who lost to Truman, would have said about sampling for elections? Your logic, if any, here seems shallow at best.

Strange how it's only Yankees who cannot (or is it refuse to) comprehend.

Why are you complaining about cheap shots? You've delivered your share of them.

Dewey would tell us that sampling was in its early stages and that the poll that predicted his victory was skewed toward rich Republicans.
Gore would say the poll results were right.
So you're going to remain willfully ignorant of the book. That's your choice, of course, but it only makes you look more foolish everytime you comment on it.

...but still won't tell us what's behind this "scientific sampling"...
Cash, your argument and your book are looking less and less convincing.

Here's a picture of me and a rottin' fish I caught one time, unionblue. Beat That with your slave whippin'.
Well it seems OIJ's answer is, 'Yes, it does take too much effort'. Thinking and reasoning with logic does too, apparently.
My Goodness Opn. Ain't you got a sense of humor, boy? It ain't all fight-fight-fight. We can have a little fun now and again. That's a pretty dang good fish.
