I have a call in to Gary W. Gallagher at UVA, right now, and am informing him of an omission in his book CAUSES WON LOST & FORGOTTEN...
He clearly missed this one, entirely!
Here we see the lesser secessionists to an all-gloriously consolidating and conquering Union of superior military force. Said Glorious Force is being derided for their Manifest Destiny against the Spartan Rebels, to whom they offered more than generous terms towards... and we see REBELLION to the stronger empire as honorable, and their deaths as noble.
Clearly this shows the South was right to self-sacrifice, and if this keeps growing in popularity, NO ONE will want to play Yankees at Reenactments, any more!
This is UNAMERICAN, and where is McCarthy when we need him?
Such UnYankee films must be censored and rewritten to show that empire is a good thing!

Where do you think all of that food in the A&P comes from? Most of it travels on that 'blue bellied serpent' you decry. What do you think would happen if something seriously impacted interstate commerce? Would you be holding a parade celebrating a states' rights victory? More likely, you'd be standing in front of the A&P thinking 'God****, I'm hungry.'

Forrest captured Fort Pillow on April 12, 1864, and proceeded to kill all the black troops within; some were burned or buried alive. A Federal congressional investigating committee subsequently verified that more than 300 blacks, including women and children, had been slain after the fort surrendered. Take your "outrage" and smoke it.
It's okay to believe in the myths of Santa Claus and Abraham Lincoln. They are benign. It's equally okay to bring forth myths that slam the South, and these may be accepted as fact, in the absence of anyone complaining...
But if you dare to speak of the South, you are automatically guilty of everything ever done with a Rebel Flag... for whatever reason.
We are held to a higher standard, and forced to a lower depth - because of this scarlet L we all have to wear, like
yellow Jewish stars, signifying our insignificance.
They don't owe you the truth. But you by God better be ready to answer to anything ever done in the name of the South, by anyone, anywhere...

I'd say it's a fake. Ole's shot about the greatcoats (and in such good condition, too!).
No, I'd say that A d o b e 7.0 had been involved at some point in the process...
But what gets me is that the North seems to get more upset about the idea of Negroes in Confederate outfits - being more than originally thought - than the South cares, one way or the other...
