Civil War Combat?

Where would I be able to watch a documentary on the combat of light infantry and cavalry units of the Civil War?
Understanding their tactics might help me understand a bit better about the battle sites and skirmishes I am researching.

Try the History Channel archives. They used to do a series on battles in which they diplayed formations and such. That was before they forgot all about history and became the UFO channel.

Forget the History Channel... go w/ this title; used to be available at most NPS stores for under $15.

Didn't General Hardee write a book on the subject that was considered the go to reference by both sides?

Hardees tactics is not written to be easily read... guaranteed to put many right to sleep. Explains how to march, facings etc; thuings we learned in Basic & AIT and concentrates most on drill. It doesn't really explain how to deal w/ situations. Outpost is better at that... I think Griffth's work is probably the best in explaining how things were done... plus it's less expensive and more easily acquired. IIRC He has a second work out there that covers things more in depth but I'm not sure. Both are available at Borders or Barnes & Noble.
