I would like to point out that I in no wise have anything but the highest regard for Nathan Bedford Forrest, who was in all things sufficient. I share Tennessee's regard for this fighting gentleman, and that other great Tennesseean, Sam Houston.

Long live the great and sovereign state of Tennessee.

How this tangent regarding him started I have no idea; the topic is Reconstruction, and I am gratified by the reading it has gotten.

My warmest regards to you all.
