What you are upset about I don't know. I've gone out of my way to be polite to you all.
That's right, you did not say "Supreme Court Decision", you said 'Supreme Court decreed". Pardon me for not asking what the heck you meant by "decreed".
Nobody is upset, at least not about you, I (we?) just like to get the facts straight, which helps when those facts are to be discussed.
Please know that no offense was meant and no offense was taken. I know from personal experience, that at times, what I have meant to express in a post has been misinterpreted or misunderstood (from my point of view), but it happens most often when I don't clearly articulate my point, etc. (And it will happen again, maybe tonight!)
Don't take it personally, and keep on moving.

I agree with Lincoln's decision to tell the Chief Justice to shut up.
Lincoln was an excelsior man, bold when necessary, and his action suited the need in this case. He was also in no one's pocket though many thought they could use him so, only to learn otherwise.
Much like Grant.
If Grant was an alcoholic I wish I could hold my liquor so well.
Through bizarre circumstances he now resides in Dixie...but we will always think of Coach Knight as Indiana's Own.

Objection! Grant was not a bully.
William, I can expect, and accept with debate, the most vile and unfair characterizations about my bud General Grant, from all quarters, mostly from them sorry Southern lost causers, but you have crossed the line!
Have you no decency, sir? At long last, have you left no sense of decency?
One must not equate General Grant with that obnoxious self-aggrandizing jerk who can be buried any which way he wishes, the sooner the better.

Well, Sam, for one, Knight never called Grant a bully, and neither did I, nor do I consider Knight a bully. Grant was a super mastermind at Generalship, as is Bob Knight in his chosen field of collegiate basketball.
Coach Knight is and has always been a big fan of Grant's. Dick Vitale
always refers to Knight as "The General", because of Knight's admiration for Grant, and Knight's own talents as an extremely capable commander, in Big 10 basketball. My post wasn't an attack on Grant, or Knight. It was a compliment for both. Before you attack, you might want to take the time to apprise the situation (post) less hastily and rashly, as Grant and Knight would surely have done.

To compare the two may be a complement to Knight, but is an insult to Grant. And Dick Vitale is a moron.

This could be the end of a beautiful friendship. Humphrey Bogart, paraphrased and bunkled.
