Smile hi new here

Hi my name is frances and i found this site doing a search for..colorado civil war veterans..Ive been doing genealogy for several years now and until recently have not had much luck with my fathers line..mother divorced him and ive never met him or his side of the family...by the time someone had mentioned were he was he had died..all i knew was he was born in rifle colorado..however i have now found that my greatgrandfather also lived and died in colorado and is buried at the Eaton Cemetary..and he was a civil war veteran..he served in the iowa 3rd calvary..i think he lied about his age..he is listed as being 18 but..he was in fact 16..
My greatgrandfather on my mothers side was to..he is buried in Anahiem
i am trying to have both graves registered with..SUVCWDB
sons of union veterans of the civil war data base..Anahiem is attemping to erect special headstones which the government pays for on all the veterans graves they can find..it would be nice if the vets in colorado could have this done for them..any one know anything about this?
feel free to e-mail me..im retired and have plenty of time ..i will be checking back here often now that i have found it..

Welcome Frances,

Hope this site helps you in your research and I hope we will be hearing from you on the other sections of the board.

Sincerely,
