Default Cost of the War

I was wondering if there were any figures out there on the cost of the war? I know the South paid a heavy price in property damage. Is there a breakdown of the cost per State?

Traveller,

Here is a web site you might find interesting on the question you pose. I don't know if it exactly fits the bill, sort-of-speak, but it may point you in the right direction.

Traveller,

This site claims the federal cost was $3 billion. I haven't really read through it to see how that amount was arrived at.
