Default Civil War podcasts

Has anyone heard of any Civil War podcasts out there yet? A podcast is a subscription to an audio program that gets automatically downloaded to your Mp3 device (e.g., ****) at night.

I launched a podcast today called "Grapevine Dispatches". It's easy to do.

Do you think this a good way to share stories and encouarge interest in the Civil War?

For someone like me, it wouldn't be effective at all. I've heard of *****, but never seen one. Have no idea how they work and no desire to find out.

Maybe they'd be more effective among the younger set, but I don't know.

If you're starting a series of "podcasts," do you have any way of knowing whether anybody out there is listening?

Default Who's listening?

Yes, I can tell exactly how many people download the podcast.

Did you know that 20% of the adult population already have a mobile listening device like an ****?

It's growing very fast.

I'm like you, Hoosier, I don't have an **** and at the moment having only a smattering of an idea of what they are all about. I understand that you can download your own music, etc., so that would make it a very individualistic device.

I'm not sure yet whether I will get one though, I'd have to hear a lot more about them, but it sounds interesting, particularly to younger people.

Don't get caught up on the device (****). It's just a way to listen to an Mp3 file. All of the audio files that our part of the Grapevine Dispatches are easily downloadable as Mp3 files that can be listened to on a PC, or burned to a CD.

The first podcast Mp3 file is here:

Future ones will be found here:

I think you just answered my question CWG. I don't have an I-Pod but I would like to listen to "Grapevine", so I can just play it over my pc speakers? When I get to my home pc I'll give 'er a try. Thanks........Terry

Yes, that helps me too! If I can just listen with what I have available here that will be easier. Thanks for the clarification.
