I have a question. When the Richmond carbine factory was moved from Richmond it was moved to a little unknown town in an isolated part of alabama. The Union attempted 2 times to destroy it but were repulsed by Confederate calvary and some home guard forcing them to retreat to Aulburn.
Before the 2nd attack the commander of the factory was ordered to ship the finished carbines (about 500) to Macon Ga. by any means possible. The video I heard it from said it never arrived and had know idea what happened to them. If anyone out there knows what happened to them could you please let me know.

It happened in mid 1864. The video was bought at the Tallassee Reenactment called the Battle of the Armory. I hope this helps.
