Hello scroggwee!

Hot dang and pass the gunpowder...another grandson of old Pat's boys! Yes indeed, I'd like to compare notes with you on the 32nd Mississippi and the 45th Alabama of Gen. Lowrey's Brig. of Cleburne's elite Division.

My ancestor was WIA (gunshot wound) on 7-22-64 at Bald Hill, Georgia and died 8-2-64 in Forsyth, Georgia. Of course, my ancestor let his 'presence be known' to many Yanks up to that time. Most material is scarce but I'll be glad to share what I've got with you. Feel free to email me per my 'user' panel or I can give you my email? Thanks much for your reply.

Mine would have to be the 5th virginia boys of the Stonewall brigade. They were there from the start till the end and were hard fighters. (even amongst themselves). I have always liked the Stonewall Brigade and know I am luckt to reenact with the 5th Virginia. There are some great reads on the 5th and I have enjoyde that.

I would most likely have to say the 1st Minnesota (I am sure that is a regular response for many people, but I have my reasons.) They were the first regiment to answer the call for 75,000 men by Lincoln, even though they were some of the most removed men from the rest of the political chaos. That shows devotion.
They took the highest amount of casualties at First Bull Run, extremely high at Antietam, and of course, their shining moment, at Gettysburg. To me, they have always exemplified the total and complete devotion and bravery of the average soldier...willing to go where others wuold not, respect for authority, and undying courage and galantry displayed every time that they went into battle.

Other favorite units include the 140th NY, 114th PA (Collis' Zouaves), the 5th New Hampshire, and the units that we portray in Reenacting, the 14th Indiana and the 6th Louisiana.
