Friar, there are TO&E's out there for several battles and campaigns.... It is actually easier to follow an individual Regiment than a Division or higher echelon units and this can be particularly difficult for
CS units.
For one in depth TO&E work I would suggest Dyers Compendium which follows every Union Regiment from the beginning of their service until the end. There are works on battles, campaigns, individual Regiments and Brigades, memoirs etc... there are literally so many works on the CW that if you were to read one book a day on the subject you would not have finished by the date of your passing from this world.
The West Point Atlas series has detailed maps of evry major engagement of the war and it has Brigade & some Regimental markings on each map. THough it lacks statistics.
