Hey Spirit. IIRC that happened at Second Bull Run, but may have happened at Fredericksburg as well. There are others on the board here who know 10 times more than I as far as the Civil War goes, who may be able to help you further with that.

Terry:
Second Manassas is the only one I recollect, but there could have been others.

Sam, it's the online edition of the Fredericksburg newspaper. The Free Lance Star or something. It features articles by hisorians and/or professors in the Fredericksburg/eastern theatre area.

I've read some of these posts before, is it a regular ongoing series?
Do they only report on Fredericksburg?

Yes, Sam, I've posted most of them up individually at different times, then I found some more info on Fredericksburg in their archives, so I re-posted it all under a new thread titled:" Frederericksburg...in case you missed it."
Some of it is new, but you may have read the other posts elsewhere on the board.
The site has a Civil War section and articles are written and published not only about Fredericksburg, but on the surrounding area as well. There's some info on Spotsylvania and Chancellorsville that I've seen. Just type a search word for a battle or other subject up in the search bar and you'll probably find something. It's a small regional newspaper and they don't charge you any fees for going back into their archives to access an article, like the NY Times and Washington Post do, Atlanta Journal Constitution etc., the bigger city papers.
