Default Road Trip

To All,

Just thought I would let all of you know, I will be off the forum for about 7-10 days, as I am going on a road trip up to Niagra Falls.

Taking the car and intend to take my/our time driving up from Columbus, Ohio, to the Canadian side of the falls. Already have hotel reservations with a view of the falls from our room. Should be pretty nice.

This is our second trip to the falls and we look forward to seeing a bit more of the local sites as well as the falls.

See you all when I get back.

Sincerely,
Unionblue

Fort Oswego! Fort Niagara! French & Indian War sites! Traitor!

Kidding, enjoy them. I haven't been there yet but I've been to many other F&I and Rev War sites in upstate NY, New England and Canada.

Have a wonderful trip. We'll try not to burn the place down while you're away.

Duriing a trip to the Falls a few years ago, my daughter and I wrote down the license plates of the cars in the area that were not from New York or Canada....there were 39 U.S. states represented and 4 foreign countries.

Have a great time!

(And remember to take your passports---if you need the CWT members to come vouch for you to the Canadian government so you can come back across the border, let us know.)

Finally, a yankee going north! Never thought I'd live to see it. Seriously, my hopes for a safe trip. If you get a chance, drive down river on the Canadian side and take a peek at the big turbines mounted on the east wall. Some of my uncle Charles' work a few years back. They take water out of the river at night, send it under the city and work the turbines during the day generating a bunch of electricity. I was there in 1956 and again about 1965. Am I getting old?

To All,

We are just now back in the Great State of Ohio and our hometown of Columbus.

What a trip!

Thank you all for your good wishes and for our safe trip. It must have worked, as we are back without a single bruise or scratch.

Good to be back.

Sincerely,
Unionblue

Welcome back, Blue. Put your feet up and don't worry about the unpacking. I'm sure it will take care of itself.
