Default Flags of my ancestors units.

This flag is of the 16th Alabama

This flag is in the archives in Montgomery, Alabama and I have seen this flag in person. The stain mark on the flag next to the EGT is blood, at least that is what they told me from the archives. This flag was captured at Franklin and I wonder if the blood is from the color barrier from that battle. I am a sucker for the Hardee flag and that is what I have under the Stars and Stripes on my flag pole.

This flag is of the 42nd Alabama Infantry.

It is in a private collection somewhere in California. Don't know much about this flag. This flag was brought home by a man in Company D and was in the family for years, until some one got greedy and sold it.

Anyway thought I would share some history with you folks.

No, no, no, no. Cleburne. We don't much care that it was an Alabama flag or a Wisconsin flag, the point is that it was a flag that was carried by someone.

****! I wish I'd have seen that!
