Default Texas State Cmetery Austin, Tx

I was in Austin last weekend for my daughters Labor Day Soccer Tournament and in between games I took the family for a little history lesson. We visited the state capitol, the Texas Military Forces Museum at Ft Mabry and the Texas State Cem. All good stuff. I do however recommend that if you're ever in Austin, TX, go to the TX Mil Forces Mus. It has great artifacts and displays including tanks and various artillery pieces on display outside. I took this picture of what I thought was the best thing to see.

A.S. Johnston's burial site.

Very beautiful picture.

Somehow, having the Texas flag (as in, Republic of) seems most fitting for his grave. Can't argue with the (American?) flag that is there.

Thanks, Mike. I keep meaning to stop by the Texas State Cemetary when I am in Austin, but never manage to get there. I will definitely make the effort now.
